Honor Metal Completes Shaft Furnace Refractory Installation for 15 t/h Copper Rod CCR Line in Europe
2026-06-24

European Copper Rod CCR Line Installation Reaches Key Milestone
Honor Metal has completed the refractory lining installation of the 16 t/h shaft melting furnace for our European customer’s copper rod Continuous Casting And Rolling (Ccr) Line, with the 8 t holding furnace refractory work now at 80% completion. The project marks the second continuous casting and rolling production line Honor Metal has supplied to the same customer, following a successfulaluminum alloy rod CCR line delivered last year.
The 16 t/h shaft Melting Furnace + 8 t holding furnace system is the core melting unit of thecopper rod CCR production line. It integrates a shaft-type Melting Furnace, an 8-ton hydraulic tilting holding furnace, a closed launder heating and transfer system, and a fully automatic combustion control system. Designed for high-efficiency copper melting and continuous production, the system delivers a maximum melting capacity of 16 tons per hour, with natural gas consumption of approximately 32 Nm³ per ton and cold start-up time under two hours.

16 t/h Shaft Melting Furnace: Key Technical Specifications
The shaft Melting Furnace adopts SiC refractory lining and advanced premixed combustion technology, achieving:
Maximum melting capacity: 16 tons per hour
Natural gas consumption: ~32 Nm³ per ton
Cold start-up time: Less than 2 hours
Key benefits: High thermal efficiency, low oxidation loss, stable continuous copper smelting performance

The 8 t hydraulic tilting holding furnace provides stable molten copper buffering and controlled metal supply to downstream equipment, with a tilting angle exceeding 70 degrees for rapid emergency discharge. The enclosed launder system features independent heating burners to maintain constant molten copper temperature throughout transfer, minimizing oxidation and preserving copper quality.
Fully Automated Control System
The entire furnace system is managed by a PLC automation platform with HMI operation interface, combined with automatic air-fuel ratio regulation, premixed combustion control, and online CO monitoring for safe and reliable operation. This advanced control architecture supports modern copper manufacturing, continuous casting, and metallurgical processing requirements.
Second CCR Line for the Same Customer
This project is the second production line Honor Metal has supplied to this European customer. Last year, Honor Metal successfully delivered an aluminum alloy rod CCR line to the same facility, which has been operating smoothly and efficiently since commissioning. The customer’s repeat order—choosing Honor Metal again for the copper rod CCR production line—reflects strong confidence in the company’s continuous casting and rolling technology, copper smelting equipment, and comprehensive engineering services.
