The crystallization wheel is a key component in the copper rod and aluminum rod continuous casting and rolling production line. Its working principle is to pour the copper liquid and aluminum liquid which reach the specified temperature into the continuous rotating crystallization wheel groove, and then crystallize and form the casting billet under the continuous pouring of internal and external cooling water. Afterward, the billet will enter into the rolling machine to be rolled into the rod meeting the specific requirements.
The quality of the crystallization wheel directly determines whether the copper rod and aluminum rod production line can achieve high quality and high yield. Therefore, it is engineered to possess excellent fatigue resistance, heat resistance, and wear resistance.
Key Manufacturing Focuses:
Common materials for crystallization wheel: Pure copper (Cu), Chromium Zirconium Copper (CuCrZr).

It functions as the molding component in continuous casting lines. Molten copper or aluminum liquid is poured into its rotating groove, solidifying into a continuous casting billet through internal and external water cooling before entering the rolling mill.
They are commonly made of Pure Copper (Cu) for standard operations, Chromium Zirconium Copper (CuCrZr) for higher heat and fatigue resistance, and Copper-Nickel-Silicon-Chromium (CuNiSiCr) for specialized block structures.
CuCrZr offers a significantly higher softening temperature (500°C compared to 250°C for pure copper), higher tensile strength (410 N/mm² vs 170 N/mm²), and superior fatigue strength, which greatly extends the service life of the wheel.
Standard diameters range from 1100 mm to 3800 mm, including common sizes like 1500 mm, 1800 mm, 2000 mm, and 2500 mm. Custom specifications can also be manufactured based on customer requirements.
Uniform cooling prevents uneven thermal expansion and contraction, which reduces the risk of wheel deformation, maintains precise billet dimensions, and ensures consistent surface quality of the cast rod.
